For my information architecture class,  was given the challenge of choosing a mobile app to redesign. As someone that has utilized many different music apps such as Spotify, apple music, google music, etc. However, I never found myself using amazon music.

My first question to validate the warrant of redesign I wanted to do some small investigating to see how others felt about this music platform. After informally asking some people and my peers what music platforms they use it became obvious that amazon music was falling behind, and then I found this chart.

The main issues that arose when discussing this platform was that the interaction between the user and the app provided a lack luster experience while navigating and exploring. The other key issue was the ui interface visuals in general and is not appealing. My goal was to clean up the interaction and provide a cleaner UI.

The main parts of the app I focused on were the browse and my music section.

I found that having the recents tab at the bottom was unnecessary, and sought another way for users to quickly view their recents from the home page.

Alexa was a portion that from a functionality standpoint remained pretty much the same, with the only change being new robust commands.
